Loft Details

Our loft conversion project in school is set in a 19th century horse-drawn bus factory - there are some amazing details in the covered garage out the back.

Canal Houses, Amsterdam

Fair+Fair, Amsterdam

Yesterday while wandering around the Jordaan neighborhood of Amsterdam I discovered this great home wares shop. At Fair+Fair they only sell products whose profits go directly back to the artisans in the third world countries where they are made. You enter the shop from a set of stairs leading you into the basement, the kitchen goods are sold in the old kitchen and then you make your way up a typical (and insanely steep) set of Dutch stairs into two main living rooms of the ancient canal house.

Alki Tavern, Seattle

The Alki Tavern is one of my favorite bars in Seattle. They serve beer by the pitcher, only take cash, and cook hot wings on a hotplate on the sidewalk out front.

Stairs

All Photos via www.stairporn.org

We've spent the entire day learning about the building regulations of staircases in public spaces. Visiting Stair Porn at the end of the day was a welcome reprieve from my drawing board. Up next... ramps!

See the Orcas in the last photo?

Oddfellows, Seattle

When you're in Seattle, you go to Oddfellows, and drink Root Beer.

I've recently become obsessed with Cabin Porn, and am now longing for a summer in Norway.

Cabmen Shelters, London

London Cabmen Shelters have provided Cabbies a full-breakfast and a cuppa since 1875.
There are 13 remaining shelters that are all Grade II listed, and a wonderful bit of Victorian London.

Reception Project, Mood Board

We've started a new project, a corporate reception for a company that we drew out of a hat. I was lucky enough to get Lego. Above is my mood board for the project. I wanted to stay away from the primary colors of Lego while bringing in the geometric and logical shapes. Lego is a Danish company and I wanted to create a Scandinavian feel, the image on the right is a Danish houseboat.
