Summer's Here!

I'm going to try and blog more often, I think it'll be good for me! Today it was BEAUTIFUL. Hot and sunny, such a nice tonic after a harsh winter. I cycled to Battersea to have lunch with Jen, and to prepare some beanbag repairs. From there I headed across the river to meet a friend in Kensington, we had planned to go to the V&A, my favorite museum in London, but it was simply too nice. We lounged in Hyde Park instead. Between a glorious day, and an impromptu garden party last night, it really seems as though summer has arrived!

Tomorrow I'll be at an Open Day for an Interior Design Course I'm considering.

I fly to Seattle on Friday, so I'm trying to get myself all organized!

Christmas in April!

For a dinner party at a friends on Saturday night, Nic and I attempted to make a Buche de Noel from my Canal House Vol. 2 cookbook.

Frosting.

We don't have a electric whisk, so we improvised!

FAIL.

Hampton Court

Henry VIII: "And from where have you come my fine subjects?"
Little Boy No. 1: "Hounslow!"
Little Boy No. 2: "We took the one one one!"
Henry VIII: "The one one one, a fine coach indeed!"

Hampton Court is such a fun day out! When I was at the Tower of London earlier this month I splurged and bought a Historical Palaces membership - something which I would totally recommend! It's £41 for a year membership and free entry into five palaces - so much better than the £19 for a one day entry to the Tower or £16.50 to get into Hampton Court. I went with my friend Jen who is writing a novel about Shakespeare at the moment. We wandered around listening to the character actors, looking at all of the beautiful daisies in bloom, and soaking in the atmosphere.

It was a lovely early Spring day.
