Costa Rica, February 2010

Last February I was traveling in Costa Rica with a good friend from Melbourne, Australia. It is the hottest month in Central America, and they were suffering from a heatwave! I thought I'd share these beautiful scenes before I head out in the rain to buy some fabric from the Electric Avenue market in Brixton. 

New Bike!

This evening my housemates surprised me with my belated Christmas present - and I love it! So excited to bike all over London!

Etsy Shop, Now Open!

Today I opened an Esty shop and listed my first item! It's made from African Super Wax fabric that I bought at the market on Electric Avenue in Brixton. 

A Spring Dress.

I have a favorite fabric store in Brixton, Simply Fabrics on Atlantic Avenue. The store is a mess and you have to dig through piles of bolts but the place is filled with gems - and it's cheap! I found this striped jersey for £2 a meter, and made this dress in about an hour. Now, only Spring needs to arrive in London.

Forks, Washington

Last February I went on an adventure to Forks, Washington on a rainy Saturday. We went to see what all the Twilight hype was about, and the vampires won, because the coast was the best part of the day! (Or maybe the clam chowder in Winslow on the way home.) I've told a few people here in London that I've been to Forks, and everyone is always shocked that it is a real place. 

Old & New

The Shard, designed by Renzo Piano will be the tallest building in Europe when it's completed next year. I hadn't seen it from this view before, but I love the contrast with Tower Bridge.

I spent Sunday morning celebrating a friends birthday over brunch at the Wapping Project. Located in the old Wapping Hydraulic Power Station, the Wapping Project was the hub of the neighborhood. http://www.thewappingproject.com/
